Czech Republic's INTV deploys satellite Intranet for the Czech Army

California-based VSAT networks supplier, STM Wireless, said it has supplied a USD300,000 broadband network to Czech Republic satellite service provider, INTV, spol. The network will be used as an Intranet by the Czech Army, which has been a long standing customer of INTV.

INTV, which specializes in a variety of satellite services, will be using STM's broadband VSAT system to build and operate a private IP-based network to allow the Czech Army to exchange externally encrypted messages among many of the army's locations.

INTV is a licensed telecom operator specializing in VSAT network services and up-link of TV programs. INTV has several existing VSAT Networks in the Czech Republic. Besides the Czech Army, INTV provides services to several other government and private organizations for applications ranging from SCADA, private corporate networks, and retail point of sale. INTV has also been involved in setting up a multimedia satellite link for NATO.
